Alternatively, you can download the JDK 8 zip instead of installer, unzip to any location and use that in Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs. Be sure to mark that one as default JRE.

So for instance in Fedora, Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS java-1.8.0-openjdk package contains just the JRE. If you want the development tools, then install the java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel package instead. And in Debian/Ubuntu openjdk-8-jre package contains just the JRE.
7 Μαρ 2019 · Because that is correct, it doesn't duplicate the executables the way the old Oracle approach did (i.e., a java in the bin/ and the jre/bin/ directories). There is a JRE only build at AdoptOpenJDK . Still note that the location of some files is slightly different in the OpenJDK build versus the old Oracle build.

27 Φεβ 2020 · In the first dialog, specify a different folder than the default location (might work with the default one as well), then select Next. It will extract the files there in this folder, then it will asl for the folder where the JRE is to be installed. Simply close the installer, now you should have just the JDK in the specified folder.
