St. Martinville, LA 70582. 337-394-2220. DRUG COURT. The 16th Judicial District Adult Drug Court first began in St. Mary Parish in 1997 with Judge William Hunter. The program expanded to Iberia Parish in 1998 with Judge Gerard Wattigny and to St. Martin in 2002 with Judge Paul deMahy.

The Hon. Lewis H. Pitman is a judge for the 16th Judicial District Court of Louisiana. He was elected to the bench on November 21, 2015. The 16th Judicial District encompasses Iberia, St. Martin, and St. Mary Parishes.
The 16th Judicial District Court has original jurisdiction of all civil and criminal matters in Iberia, St. Martin and St. Mary Parishes. There are eight elected judges. Presently two judges are elected from Section One (Divisions G & H) and six judges are elected from Section Two (Divisions A-F).
