Kagawa Prefecture. Located on the island of Shikoku, Kagawa Prefecture (香川県, Kagawa-ken) is the smallest prefecture of Japan. Kagawa is well known for its udon noodles, which are named after the prefecture's old name Sanuki. The prefectural capital is Takamatsu.
Kagawa Prefecture is located on the Seto Inland Sea across from Okayama Prefecture on the island of Honshu, which is connected by the Great Seto Bridge. Kagawa Prefecture includes Shōdoshima , the second-largest island in the Seto Inland Sea, and the prefecture's southern land border with Tokushima Prefecture is formed by the Sanuki Mountains .
Kagawa has Shikoku’s largest city, Takamatsu, and many small islands on the Seto Inland Sea. Naoshima and its surrounding islands are packed with internationally renowned modern art installations and museums, while Shodoshima is famous for olive production and the Angel Road.
