11 Μαρ 2024 · The designated detour for U.S. 166 traffic will be marked with signage starting March 28 through mid-November, weather and schedule permitting. Besides increasing vertical bridge clearance, construction includes pavement surfacing, guardrail, bridge pier protection, berm slop improvements and bridge rehabilitation.
10 Σεπ 2024 · KDOT and the City of Topeka are collaborating on a reconstruction and pavement replacement project on U.S. 24. The project begins near N. Kansas Avenue in Topeka and extends to Muddy Creek Jefferson County. Work began in July 2023 and is expected be complete in 2027, conditions permitting.
Crews will remove and replace or relocate 12,600 square yards of pavement, 7,035 feet of sanitary sewer, 2,644 feet of storm sewer, and 6,009 feet of water line. Visit the City of Topeka's Utility Relocation Project webpage to view traffic and detour maps, and to learn more about current efforts.
