The HealthWave and HealthConnect Kansas programs have ended, and all of those services are now provided through the KanCare health plans. KanCare health plans are required to coordinate the different types of care a consumer receives.
To apply online visit the Medical Consumer Self-Service portal. To request and application, call: 800-792-4884. Fax applications to: 800-498-1255. Coverage. If you do not currently have coverage for KanCare, you can apply online. To apply for medical coverage, you must complete and submit an application.

KanCare is provided to all Medicaid and CHIP consumers. Kansas has contracted with three health plans, or managed care organizations ( MCOs ), to coordinate health care for nearly all beneficiaries. The KanCare program began in January 2013.
1 Μαρ 2001 · Kansas has significantly increased the number of publicly insured children. The number of children enrolled in HealthWave and Medicaid Insurance increased by 39,000 in the first 18 months of the HealthWave program. Future enrollment gains are likely to be much smaller than early in the program.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Division of Health Care Finance (DHCF) offers medical assistance to help cover health care costs. We have three major programs for individuals and families who qualify: KanCare under the Medicaid plan - Our largest program.
