Unemployment Insurance (UI) is a state-operated insurance program designed to provide temporary and partial financial assistance to replace lost wages to Kansas workers when they are unemployed through no fault of their own and meet the requirements of State law.

The Extended Benefits (EB) program in Kansas provides an additional 13 weeks of unemployment insurance benefits to those who have exhausted their regular unemployment compensation. This program is only available when Kansas experiences high unemployment rates.
Vacation, holiday, bonus, pension, and separation pay may reduce or delay your unemployment benefits. If you receive these types of pay while claiming unemployment benefits, report this information when you file your application and weekly certification for payment.
