28 Ιουλ 2006 · I own 4 Katos, 2 SD80MACs (in Conrail Quality) and 2 SD70MACs (in CSX YN2). The SD80MAC is my favorite engine and nothing beats these brutes in the pulling department. I've pulled around 30 coal hoppers (w/ loads) up a 2.5% grade with my two 80MACs.

1 Σεπ 2002 · Two of North America’s largest road freight locomotives, the SD80MAC and the SD9043MAC, are the newest additions to Kato’s line of HO models. Both models feature excellent molded plastic bodies, smooth-running mechanisms, and numerous add-on parts that modelers once considered superdetails.
The behemoth SD80MAC can generate up to 5,000 horsepower and has a maximum speed of the SD80MAC is 75 mph. It is equipped with the EMD HTCR-II radial truck that is capable of reducing the angle of wear between wheels and rail.
