Ear keloids at their earliest stages appear in two distinct manners: 1. Protruding papule on the surface of ear. They may become irritated if you accidentally touch them or they rub against your clothes. Ear keloids may also make you feel self-conscious or insecure about your appearance.

A keloid scar is a firm, smooth, hard growth that occurs as a result of excessive scar formation. Keloids occur after skin injury; rarely, keloids can occur spontaneously without any significant preceding skin injury.
The most affected areas are: chest, shoulders, upper back, back of the neck, cheeks and earlobes. It was believed that keloids appear most often in areas of high skin tension.
Keloids are shiny, firm, smooth, and slightly pink or darkened. Keloids do not hurt, but they may itch or be sensitive to touch. Keloids respond poorly to therapy, but monthly injections of corticosteroids may flatten them somewhat.
