13 Αυγ 2012 · Representatives from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) will be at Kent State University on two days next week for town hall meetings on about the proposed pension reform legislation and proposed changes to health care coverage.
OPERS offers the Traditional Pension Plan, the Member-Directed Plan and the Combined Plan while STRS members may choose the Defined Benefit Plan, the Defined Contribution Plan or the Combined Plan. Retirement eligibility under each system varies.
Full-time classified and unclassified employees may elect to participate in either the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) or an Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP). Full-time faculty members may elect to participate in either the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) or an ARP.
