Kepler Track huts, campsites and shelters There might be only three official Great Walk huts on the Kepler, Luxmore, Iris Burn and Moturau, and two official campsites, Brod Bay and Iris Burn, but there are a number of other structures that are also documented here.

12 Φεβ 2023 · While the Kepler Track can be challenging physically, the main challenge, as with a lot of these sort of hikes, is finding a bed in hut for the 3 or 4 consecutive nights you are out in the wilderness. Bookings open around June and fill up about 3 seconds later for most Kepler Track huts.

29 Οκτ 2024 · This is one of three DOC Great Walk huts on the Kepler Track - the Luxmore, Iris Burn and Moturau. There are also campsites at Brod Bay and Iris Burn. This hut sits well above the bush line (1085m) and has a fantastic view from the deck across the Kepler Mountains and over Lake Te Anau.

The campsite is by the shore and it is also accessible by water taxi for those who want to cut some distance off their walk.
