19 Ιουν 2021 · Tucked away amidst the Kiamichi Mountains and the Ouachita National Forest, there are so many epic things to do in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Hochatown, & Beavers Bend State Park. Together with Hochatown and Beavers Bend State Park, a gem of Oklahoma has formed.
Trail Overview. This is the current legal version of the well known K-Trail. This short stretch along the Kiamichi Mountain ridgeline is an enjoyable 5 hour drive. There are small rock gardens and plenty of red dirt that make up this mildly bumpy run.
24 Οκτ 2024 · The Choctaw Nation Adventure Trail passes near the historic Fort Towsen, and important outpost in Indian Territory. The Choctaw Nation Trail covers SE Oklahoma from McAlester to Broken Bow. There are several low-water crossings in the Kiamichi Mountains around Perkins, Cloudy, and Battiest.
From fishing and hiking, to biking and sightseeing, the Kiamichi Trace is the perfect getaway. Begin your journey along the Kiamichi Trace south of Grant, Oklahoma on Highway 271 and travel north to Hugo, known as Circus City in honor of the circus performers that used to winter there.
The South end of the Kiamichi Trace is at Beavers Bend State Park on Broken Bow Lake. Rent a cabin or camp out on the shores of the peaceful lake, or at least spend an afternoon exploring the many coves and crannies on the water via canoe or kayak.
Fishing, hiking, camping, hunting, and various water recreations attract people from all over the country to southeastern Oklahoma. The historic Kiamichi Trail (K-Trail) offers the opportunity for off-grid travel.
