6 Μαρ 2020 · It describes the key functions and components of the kidneys, including the cortex and medulla. It explains the nephron is the functional unit of the kidney, consisting of the renal corpuscle and uriniferous tubule. The renal corpuscle contains the glomerulus and Bowman's capsule.
30 Οκτ 2023 · Renal corpuscles are located in the renal cortex, while their tubular systems extend into the medulla. Depending on their distribution and morphology, there are two main types of nephrons in the kidney; cortical and juxtamedullary. Cortical nephrons have their corpuscles close to the kidney capsule.
Histology of the kidney - cortex (renal corpuscles, cortical labyrinths, medullary rays), medulla (pyramids, renal pelvis), arcuate arteries, and hilum.
17 Ιαν 2021 · The document summarizes the histology of the kidney. It describes the general organization of the renal structure which includes the renal capsule, cortex, medulla, renal pyramids, and renal pelvis. It then discusses lobes and lobules.
4 Parts of the nephron: Renal corpuscules (filtration):-Bowman’s capsules-Glomeruli 2. Tubules renales (modification): -Proximal convoluted and straight tubules -Loop of Henle -Distal convoluted and straight tubule Collecting duct
• The two kidneys are responsible for excretion of waste products and control the water and electrolyte balance. They are retroperitoneal organs. Lie on the upper part of posterior abdominal wall from level of 12th thoracic vertebra to 3rd lumber vertebra. The right kidney is 1⁄2 inch lower than the left kidney.
