Now this was a while back now, but i managed to signal trace the problem to one of the op-amp chips (solo repeat control amp) on the preamp board; a faint signal was coming in, but no signal
28 Δεκ 2022 · I would start by recapping the power supply and replacing the rectifier diodes and see how it sounds. From there, you might have to repair other parts, but at least it will have a reliable PSU. The amplifier sounds like it's ok... for now.
28 Μαρ 2020 · First I do a visual inspection. Leaking, bulging caps, burnt components, etc. The second thing I do on these is apply Deoxit D5 to all circuit board edge connectors. Much of the DC voltage and audio is daisy chained and the edge connectors on these are problematic.
