Kinabalu National Park, recently declared as The Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark, was established in 1964. Led by Prof. Corner, the expedition laid the foundation for this protected area, marking it as the first national park in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo.
8 Απρ 2024 · Kinabalu National Park is around two hours from Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, and just ten minutes from Kundasang. The easiest way to get to the park is to rent a car and drive. Car rental is relatively cheap in Borneo, starting at around 100MYR (approx. $20USD) per day for a small hatchback.
Kinabalu Park, with four climatic zones, boasts one of the richest collections of biodiversity in the world, housing and protecting more than 4,500 species of flora and fauna – including 326 bird species, an estimated of over 100 mammal species, over 110 land snail species, and its biggest attraction, Mount Kinabalu.

Opening hours: Poring Hot Spring 8:00AM - 5:00PM (Last Admission is at 4:00PM); Kinabalu Park 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Kinabalu Park is at high altitude approximately 1500 meter above sea level, so it can get cold. The Canopy Walkway is approximately 60 meter above the ground, not for the faint-hearted.

This is per day so you need to pay for each day you visit unless you stay within the park (with discounts for children) Other than the main summit, there are plenty of winding and interconnecting trails that offer great hiking opportunities.
