Now that Kontakt 6 is out, I'm wondering how people feel about it compared to Kontakt 5. Is it pretty much the same, or have there been any significant changes? Does it affect performance differently? Are there any new modules that you find worthwhile?
A lot of orchestral/cinematic sample libraries run in Kontakt Player or even require Kontakt. So deciding between Kontakt and Kontakt Player depends on which sample libraries you have or want to get in the future. When it comes to Komplete Kontrol, i use it for browsing through my sounds.
I can get Kontakt for $125 as I already own a qualifying native instrument product. Is this worth it for a beginner or is there a better alternative for me at this stage? Thanks for any insights.
We explore what's new in the latest version of NI's flagship sampler. After a considerable wait and much speculation, version 6 has finally acceded to the Kontakt throne. Although it's punted as 'Kontakt 6' by Native Instruments, the VST refers to itself in the plug-in list simply as 'Kontakt', with no number to signify the version.
