Navigate to the Overrides folder in the swkotor folder. Download the mod from a reputable modder. If the mod is a Loose File mod, it can be copied directly into the Overrides folder from the download location.

I just bought KOTOR 2 on Steam earlier this week because I wanted to play with the restored content mod. I went to the Steam Workshop and got TSLRCM+M4-78EP combo mod plus a few other mods such as the buzzing audio bug fix, the wide UI fix and easy swoop racing.
