Foley Railroad Museum houses artifacts and archives for the City of Foley and the L & N Train. We also have a Model Train Exhibit that is open Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. History. John B Foley developed this area in 1905. The Museum building was the Depot for the Trains that ran from 1909 until the mid 70's.
22 Απρ 2022 · Outside, the museum is home to a short display train anchored by a preserved Lousiville & Nashville switcher. The town of Foley was the southern terminus of a 35-mile L&N branchline extending from Bay Minette along the busy Mobile-Flomaton main.
Come and visit the historic depot to see photos, tools and memorabilia documenting Foley’s history and the important part the railroad played in developing this area.
The museum is in a city park with an outdoor wooden youngster play train, an EMD SW-1 locomotive, caboose, and boxcar all from the Louisville & Nashville Railroad accompanied by a Frisco boxcar. The caboose is close to a railroad school out in signage and access.
14 Δεκ 2023 · Housed in the former Louisville and Nashville (L&N) Railroad Depot (ca. 1909), the museum includes several exhibits that include various artifacts and memorabilia related to the area's locomotive history, including a 1,440-square-foot model railroad.
