La Grange Inn. September 2019 - the West Islip History Center opened in the restored LaGrange building on September 8 at noon. Volunteers will be there from 12 to 2pm on Sundays & Tuesdays to welcome visitors.
9 Φεβ 2020 · The LaGrange Inn was a storied stopping point along Montauk Highway from the 1700s when it opened for business with a Higbie at the helm. It remained a local landmark, operating under many different proprietors, into the 21st century.
The La Grange Inn dates back to 1750 and was a familiar site on Montauk Highway. It maintained some semblance of its intended purpose throughout its history. At various times, it was as an inn, a hotel, a hostelry, and a restaurant and has undergone several expansions over time.
12 Δεκ 2012 · The La Grange Inn has stood at the corner of Higbie Lane and Montauk Highway in West Islip for more than 260 years. It started out as a remote country resort, a place where people came to spend their entire summers fishing and hunting.
West Islip History Center @ LaGrange. Open Sundays and Tuesdays. 12 noon to 2 pm. The West Islip Historical Society is honoring the 50th anniversary of the West Islip Beautification Society. Come in and see the pictoral history of 50 years of making West Islip a beautiful place to live.
