31 Οκτ 2023 · In the US, the FDA has recently approved Librela (bedinvetmab), a new arthritis drug for dogs … but it’s been available in Australia (under the name Beransa), Canada, the EU and UK for some time. It’s a monoclonal antibody drug that’s injected monthly to manage osteoarthritis pain.
While not all dogs will experience side effects, some common side effects of Librela include mild injection site reactions, such as swelling and heat. More serious side effects have also been reported, including renal and urinary tract disorders, neurological disorders, and gastrointestinal issues.

The list of known side effects of Rimadyl is long and serious side effects include kidney damage. Meanwhile you’re saying Liberla isn’t well studied, but that it’s established to have a similar issue as Rimadyl with kidney disease.
2 Δεκ 2023 · For dogs in which NSAIDs are not appropriate, Librela may be a viable alternative. If a dog does respond well to Librela, then the risks of long-term NSAID use are eliminated and this is the reason why Librela is so powerful for some dogs.
1 Ιουν 2022 · My dog has ataxia multiple times a day, anorexia, chronic cough, panting, difficulty breathing when walking, excessive drinking and urination and diarrhea. All are frequently reported adverse side effects from Librela. She seems a bit better after the secong or third day post jab but started going downhill after the first week.
