- Express Permits
PermitLA is the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) application to obtain online permits* for small projects that do not require plan check. For a list of these permits, click the link Online Permits Informational Bulletin.

The following services are now only accessible in our new e-Permit system known as PermitLA: 1. Obtain one or more Express Permits including Temporary Special Event Permits. 2. Calculate the fees for an Express Permit. 3. Check the status of an existing e-Permit payment.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) Electronic Permit System (e-Permit system) allows for the issuance of a building permit to replace door(s) with the same size, type and location as the existing door(s).
