Online Permits and Record Search. The following services are available online: Express Pemits (permits that do not require plan check) at https://permitla.lacitydbs.org/. Search for building records at https://ladbsdoc.lacity.org/. Electronic plan review (ePlanLA) is available for the following types of applications: - Soft-story Retrofit.
The following services are now only accessible in our new e-Permit system known as PermitLA: 1. Obtain one or more Express Permits including Temporary Special Event Permits. 2. Calculate the fees for an Express Permit. 3. Check the status of an existing e-Permit payment.

The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) Electronic Permit System (e-Permit system) automatically calculates all applicable building permit fees based on the scope(s) of work completed by the user.
Permits & Regulations. Permits for graywater systems are issued by the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS). Approval may be needed by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
