Annual fees can be paid at La Plata City Hall. This Area is owned and Maintained by: City of La Plata. The fishery is managed by MDC, and the land surrounding the lake and all non-fishing related activities are managed by the City of La Plata. The City provides 30 camping sites, a playground, and a picnic pavilion.
Fees are $15 for camp sites with hookups; $7 for primitive sites. The Park & Recreation Board will also offer monthly rates for those wanting to stay extended periods of time. People who bring their own boats will be required to pay a fee, which is $25 for a year or $2 per day.

A two-night minimum stay on the weekend (Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday) is required at Big Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Pershing, St. Joe, Table Rock, Mark Twain, Wakonda, Wallace and Watkins Mill state parks. Camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period at any one park. LEAVE NO TRACE.
