Lago Xolotlan, also known as Lake Managua, is situated in the Nicaraguan hydrographic depression or Nicaraguan rift valley, which is separated from the Pacific Ocean by a strip of lowlands, to the northwest of Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America.
Lake Managua (Spanish: Lago de Managua, [maˈnaɣwa]), also known as Lake Xolotlán (Lago Xolotlán), is a freshwater lake in Nicaragua. At 1,042 km², it is approximately 65 kilometres (40 mi) long and 25 kilometres (16 mi) wide.
Lake Managua, lake in western Nicaragua, in a rift valley at an elevation of 128 feet (39 meters) above sea level. The lake, 65 feet (20 meters) in depth, is 36 miles (58 km) from east to west and 16 miles (25 km) from north to south; its area is 400 square miles (1,035 square km).
