Roosevelt Lake in Washington is a renowned fishing destination that offers anglers a memorable and diverse fishing experience. The white sturgeon fishing season in Lake Roosevelt in northeast Washington changed to a fall fishery in 2023 in an effort to reduce stress from warm water temperatures on sturgeon caught and released due to not being legal harvest size.
Lake Roosevelt has the best rainbow fishing in the region. Both wild and planted triploid rainbows are held within the system. In order to preserve the native species, wild fish must be released. Hatchery triploids "those with a clipped adipose fin" are the fish you need to target.
