The mountain town of Beech Mountain is within a quick trip from a few places, including: 20 minutes from Banner Elk. 45 minutes from Boone. One hour from Blowing Rock. Two hours from downtown Asheville. Two hours and 15 minutes from Winston-Salem.
Quality venue with delightful and entertaining staff and activities! The Land of Oz on top of Beech Mountain is SO well done, and everything from Dorothy’s house, Professor Marvel, the witch’s legs under the house, Glinda greeting everyone….seemed straight out of the movie!

The Land of Oz is a theme park based on L. Frank Baum's Land of Oz books, located in the resort town of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, US. Carolina Caribbean Corporation opened it in 1970 under the guidance of Grover Robbins, who had been successful with Tweetsie Railroad. Designed by Jack Pentes, the park was fully operational until 1980.
