Lassie is the pet of Jeff Miller, an 11-year-old farm boy. The two become best friends and enjoy family adventures in the American countryside, teaching each other about love, nature and commitment.
The first season of the television series Lassie premiered in the United States on CBS on September 12, 1954 and ran for 26 episodes until its conclusion on March 6, 1955. Produced by Robert Maxwell, the episodes follows the adventures of a female rough collie named Lassie and her young owner Jeffrey Miller.
When Lassie is left at a neighbor while the Martins are at the country fair, the neighbor's pet chimpanzee causes havoc in their home which Lassie is blamed for.
