At best, assuming MTV doesn’t become a 24/7 reality show and lifestyle channel, it could have transitioned into MTV+, where for a subscription fee, you get multiple genred 24/7 feeds of curated music videos, VH1, the back catalog of unplugged/MTV concert shows and a Spotify sized audio music catalog.

The births didn't pick up again until the late 1970s, when the Baby Boomers got their shit together after all the turmoil and political, cultural, and economic upheaval of the 1960s and 1970s. This was the baby boom ECHO, aka the Millennial Generation (plus late Generation X in the beginning).

But many younger Millennials and Zoomers did grow up absolutely obsessing over the 90s. So late Gen X youth culture definitely hasn’t been forgotten. Is it overly simplified, marginalized and romanticized? Absolutely. But we did the exact same thing to the Silents and Boomers.

My fiance who is either late Gen x or early millennial (I think the later?) doesn't have the same issues that my parents have with believing credible sources. Though I think I've seen more hate with Gen x and Gen z towards each other than I've seen hate from Millenials to Gen x.
