The Church Educational System (CES) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) consists of several institutions that provide religious and secular education for both Latter-day Saint and non–Latter-day Saint elementary, secondary, and post-secondary students and adult learners.

Between the 1870s and 1930s, the Church operated three dozen secondary schools called academies. These schools supplied primarily adolescent Latter-day Saints with weekday education after grade school and before college.

During the 1988-1989 school year, 255,361 high school students participated in seminary, constituting 55 percent of all eligible LDS youth.
