Use this calculator to estimate the lumen output that will be created from your chosen wattage of light source. Enter the wattage, then either choose the most appropriate light source from the list or enter the lumens per watt of your light source, to get the light output in lumens.
The old days of choosing light bulbs by wattage are over. With today’s modern LED bulbs, we instead need to focus on lumens. But what is a lumen? We’ll explain that, and then you can use our lumens to watts conversion chart to select the right LED bulb every time.
Convert between watts (W) and lumens (lm) for a variety of different lightbulb efficiencies
3 ημέρες πριν · For example, using a 12V battery to power the LED lighting in a camper, and the combined wattage needed to power the lights is 100 watts, we start by dividing 100 by 12 which equals 8.33. This means our lighting requires 8.33 Ah of power per hour to operate correctly. A standard 12V battery in a car is rated at around 600 Ah.
For example, a 60 watt household bulb is about 700-800 lumens (depending on age. A 15 watt fluorescent is about the same. On the automotive side, the common #1141 bulb is about 270 lumens when new and uses about 18 watts. Just remember: The higher the lumens, the brighter the light.
You can use the 7:1 ratio started above to verify that. So, when converting from incandescent to LED bulbs, a 60W incandescent equals a 60/7W LED. Take a look at the following table to know each LED bulb’s equivalent wattage and how much lumens it means. November 5, 2024 7:31 am.
