To renew a MD medical license a physician will need to meet the following CME requirements: 100 total credit hours in a two-year license renewal period ending December 31. At least 12 credits in the areas of approved patient safety or risk management content (either Category 1 or Category 2).
The Pennsylvania Licensing System (PALS) is DOS’s new system of record to support data collection, interdepartmental information exchange, and workflows related to professional licensure.
Expiration and renewal of license. (a) The Board will assign registered nurses to one of the following license expiration dates: (1) April 30 in the even-numbered years. (2) October 31 in the even-numbered years. (3) April 30 in the odd-numbered years. (4) October 31 in the odd-numbered years.
Licensing Services. The Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs now offers prospective licensees the opportunity to apply for initial licensure; current licensees the opportunity to renew their license; and licensees, employers and the general public the opportunity to conduct searches of licensed professionals via our secure PALS website.
