Click on Ease of Access. Next, click on Change how your keyboard works. Now, untick the box that reads: Turn on Filter Keys. Hit Apply and Ok. Inspect the Keyboard
Press and hold the 'pencil' button for 5 seconds or until the keyboard lights up. Once the keyboard lights up, it should work when in laptop mode. If it still does not work, it may need to be replaced.
