13 Οκτ 2020 · Most jujubes benefit from cross pollination. I’ve noticed that trees like Honey Jar and Sugarcane typically have some fruit that are noticeably larger and these large fruit have stones containing viable seed.

Jujube's flowers are small, with five yellowish-green petals and are dioecious, which means that male and female flowers are borne on separate plants. This feature is particularly key to its pollination process. Jujube relies on cross-pollination due to its dioecious nature.
5 Αυγ 2024 · Straight to the point: Will an "afternoon blooming" (see paper linked below) jujube variety (e.g. Honey Jar, GA-866, or Li) effectively pollinate another afternoon blooming variety, or would it be better to pair a "morning blooming" variety (e.g Lang or Sugarcane) with an afternoon blooming variety?
One of the few self-fruitful jujubes available in the US! Li offers medium-sized, gorgeous mahogany brown fruits. The fruits average 1" tall, with a stout, barrel shape and a very mild flavor when fresh. Dried, they are sweet and great for use in teas and preserves. Jujubes are pretty trees with glossy green leaves that turn yellow in the autumn.
