Ali is an Indonesian funk supergroup consisting of artist Arswandaru Cahyo with Kelompok Penerbang Roket member John Paul Patton and The Sigit member Absar Lebeh, formed in 2021. They joined the wave of " habibi funk " music, incorporating Middle Eastern music elements into funk and disco .

On 31 March 1995, Rida Yasin, also known as Abu Ali, was killed by a single rocket fired from an Israeli helicopter while in a car near Derdghaya in the Israeli security zone 10 km east of Tyre. Yasin was a senior military commander in southern Lebanon. His companion in the car was also killed.

Initiated by John Paul Patton and Arswandaru Cahyo, the desire of Ali is to incorporate Middle Eastern culture with elements 70’s Indonesian rock, cinematic soul, afro beat, funk and disco to create a new groove and sound to the contemporary and vibrant Indonesian music scene.
