On October 30, 2023, the federal government released nearly $3.7 billion in Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding to help households with their home energy costs. LIHEAP is administered through the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) Office of Community Services (OCS).
The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program designed to assist low income families in Iowa to meet the cost of home heating by providing a one-time payment to the heating utility.

This information will help the agency verify your identity and provide an accurate update on your application.
You can apply for LIHEAP between November 1, 2024 and April 30, 2025. Apply Online at this link – https://liheap-apply.hhs.iowa.gov/s/ – click on where it says Check Eligibility. If you need immediate assistance with utilities, please contact your local center.
