So go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Manage Network Connections. Click on each connection that is listed EXCEPT the wireless LAN connection and then click Disable this network device. Then see if your wireless LAN will connect.

There are other wireless networks in the area but with a much weaker signal than mine . They are all security enabled as indeed is mine.

It shows name, ssid, network type: access point, network availability: all users". Then i have a few options to check on or off under that.

When "connected", it says "Local Only", and says it cannot connect to the internet. This is true for both wired and wireless. It can get an IP address (192.168.0.5), and the router (192.168.0.1) reports that it can see the device.
26 Οκτ 2013 · Limited connectivity issues with Vista can often be improved by updating the network device drivers. Create a Restore Point then go to the Device Manager under Administrative Tools. RIght-click on the Network devices, both the physical card driver and the WiFi driver in turn, select Update Driver.
