Lincoln City Football Club, an English association football club based in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, was founded in 1884. The club's first team won the major regional trophy, the Lincolnshire Senior Cup, in the 1886–87 season, and reached the last 16 of the FA Cup in the same year. [1] .
Their first game in the Football League was a 4–2 away defeat to Sheffield United on 3 September 1892. [3] Their first home game was also against Sheffield United, this time, however, Lincoln won 1–0. Due to Dawber's death in 1895, Lincoln moved from the John O'Gaunts Ground to Sincil Bank.

Lincoln kicked off their FA Cup campaign in November with a 3-2 home win against Northampton. Bruno Andrade scored the decisive goal for City two minutes into added time with a magnificent right-footed strike from around 25-yards.
