One. Open heat near burnable and meltable stuff. Two. Rubber when hot pulls oils below and towards the surface. Your adhesive will rot faster over time and you'll have trim fall off. Your best bet is trim restore or, replace the trim. Check eBay for some trim replacements or online car stores. Some aren't badly priced.
25 Ιουν 2014 · Would silicone spray or white lithium grease be preferable for rubber bushings? This would be assembly lube to get the bushings easier on and oriented properly. I am looking for the product least deleterious to rubber. Someone recommended Synco Super Lube. Would that be an option?
A silicon-based lube is the safest bet if you don't know what kind of elastomer you're dealing with. I would avoid using lithium grease or any other mineral/petroleum oil based lubricant on automotive rubbers. I think silicone can work well on rubber bushings.
