Lloyd James Waner (March 16, 1906 – July 22, 1982), nicknamed "Little Poison", was a Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder. His small stature at 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) and 132 lb (60 kg) [1] made him one of the smallest players of his era.

In 1950, Lloyd and Paul Waner lost their older brother, Ralph Waner, when he was fatally shot by his ex-wife Marie. [22] Ralph had been eating a steak dinner with his girlfriend when Marie came into the restaurant.
Lloyd Waner worked as a scout for the Pirates from 1946-49. He then left baseball to take a job as a field clerk for the Oklahoma City government, a post he held until he retired in 1967. He lived comfortably with his wife Frances Mae (nee Snyder), daughter Lydia, son Lloyd Jr., and five grandchildren.
More often than not, Lloyd played second fiddle as “Little Poison” to his big brother Paul Waner’s “Big Poison,” after a sports writer misheard a Brooklyn fan’s accent pronouncing here comes that “little person.”
Lloyd Waner burst onto the baseball scene in 1927. He hit .355 and scored a league-leading 133 runs. More impressively, he tallied 223 hits to set a still-standing NL mark for safeties by a rookie. The magic started for Waner early in his big league debut.
