1 Μαΐ 2024 · The pulmonary arteries accompany the bronchi on their course towards the periphery and thus there are lobar, segmental and subsegmental branches. Differentiation can be made by tracing the arterial divisions in correlation to the bronchi.
23 Ιουλ 2024 · Each segment is functionally and anatomically discrete allowing a single segment to be surgically resected without affecting its neighboring segments. There is some form of segmental symmetry between the right and left lungs, even though the left lung is smaller and only contains two lobes.
The segmental bronchus that runs down the center of the segment gives rise to two or three subsegmental bronchi. Further branching of the bronchial tree occurs until the last division, which is called the “lobular bronchus” because it ends in the pulmonary lobule (physiologic unit of the lung).
1 Μαΐ 2021 · The lobar bronchus of the LLL forms four or five segmental bronchi: superior (B6), medial (B7, which may be absent), anterior basal (B8) and lateral and posterior (B9 + B10) frequently with a common origin (Boyden, 1949; Brock, 1954; Ghaye et al., 2001).
One of the purposes of this report is to illustrate the various sublobar bronchopulmonary segments as they are outlined by disease and to demonstrate the changes in size, configuration, and position which various pathological processes may induce in them.
Skalski M, Lobar and segmental bronchial anatomy. Case study, Radiopaedia.org (Accessed on 03 Nov 2024) https://doi.org/10.53347/rID-23285. The right and left lobar and segmental bronchi are depicted.
26 Ιουλ 2019 · Bronchial atresia is a congenital airway abnormality that results from focal interruption of lobar, segmental, or subsegmental bronchi and is often associated with peripheral mucus impaction and a resulting mucocele.
