Ironworkers Local 751 represent the entire state of Alaska. Since being chartered on March 27, 1953, the proud members of Local 751 have contributed to the growth of this immense state. Members of Local 751 are highly diverse.
Job Description. Ironworkers erect the structural framework for high rise buildings, bridges, power plants, and towers. They place reinforcing steel in concrete forms for roadways, foundations and structures and erect the aluminum fascia on high rise window walls.
The programs trains ironworkers in all aspects of bridge, structural, ornamental and reinforcing iron for general and structural steel contractors throughout Alaska. The program is a statewide program.
Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with formal classroom and hands-on instruction. Apprentices earn while they learn. Alaska Works can help applicants gain entry into Alaska’s construction trade apprenticeships through our Apprenticeship Outreach program
