3 Ιαν 2024 · Lesser sigmoid cavity (or radial notch) It is a small cavity with a cartilaginous “crust” located under the greater sigmoid cavity (or trochlear notch). Both notches are separated by an anteroposterior ridge.
The radial notch of the ulna is a small, shallow depression located on the lateral side of the coronoid process of the ulna, where it articulates with the head of the radius to form part of the proximal radioulnar joint.
Laterally to the trochlear notch lies the radial notch, which articulates with the head of the radius to form the proximal radioulnar joint. Immediately distal to the coronoid process is the tuberosity of ulna, to which the brachialis muscle attaches.
30 Οκτ 2023 · The radial musculature consists of three muscles located at the lateral forearm. They all run from or near the lateral epicondyle of the humerus to the wrist. As their bellies and tendons lie superficially, they can be easily palpated. Contents. Anatomy and supply. Brachioradialis muscle. Extensor carpi radialis longus.
18 Νοε 2022 · The DRUJ is a pivot joint between the distal radius and ulna that allows forearm rotation in conjunction with grasping function of the hand. Its osseous components are the radial sigmoid notch; the ulnar head, consisting of the hub and seat; the fovea; and the styloid (Fig 1) (1).
30 Οκτ 2023 · The inferolateral aspect of the distal end of the body of the radius presents with a blunt bony projection known as the styloid process of the radius. Much like the rest of the bony landmarks of the radius, the styloid process is an important attachment site for muscles and ligaments of the forearm, wrist and hand.
