After reading this text and / or viewing the video tutorial on this topic you should be able to: explain what is meant by a logarithm. state and use the laws of logarithms. solve simple equations requiring the use of logarithms.
Logarithms. Study the statement. 100 = 102. In this statement we say that 10 is the base and 2 is the power or index. Logarithms provide an alternative way of writing a statement such as this. We rewrite it as. log10 100 = 2. This is read as ‘log to the base 10 of 100 is 2’. These alternative forms are shown in Figure 1.
Logarithms. This booklet explains what is meant by a logarithm. It states and illustrates the laws of llogarithms. It explains the standard bases 10 and e. Finally it shows how logarithms can be used to solve certain types of equations.
Logarithmic function can be found in psychology as well. An example of logarithmic function is the curve of forgetting which is represented by the graph of the following function: f (t) = A – B log (t+1), with A and B being experimentally determined constants.
28 Ιουλ 2011 · Logarithms can be applied to Psychology too! In the introduction of logarithms, we introduced 3 laws in Logarithms in Psychology. They are. 1) Fitt's Law. 2) Hick's Law. 3) Weber-Fechner Law. Basically, these are laws used to calculate human reaction time.
19 Ιουλ 2024 · Logarithms are fundamental components in mathematics, particularly useful for solving equations involving exponential functions. Among the various types of logarithms, two stand out for their frequent application and inherent properties: the natural logarithm and the common logarithm.
