The Beach and Bay Water Quality Monitoring Program coordinates the sampling and posting of signs warning of contaminated water at beaches affected by sewage spills, when monitoring indicates bacteria levels exceed State standards, or during other events that may pose a threat to public health. 18 ώρες πριν · This map reflects the current status of San Diego County beaches from Camp Pendleton to the US/Mexico border. San Diego Coastkeeper receives water quality information from the County of San Diego, Department of Environmental Health, and uploads it into our Swim Guide.
18 Δεκ 2023 · A deeper analysis of the data, with the help of a researcher from University of California-San Diego, helped us map 17 months’ worth of water quality tests. We averaged thousands of results over that time period to get a better picture of how dirty the water is at each beach most of the time.
The frequency of San Diego’s beach water quality monitoring exceeds the standards set by the state, with daily monitoring of south county beaches. When bacteria exceed state standards or the water is contaminated with sewage or chemicals, either an advisory, warning, or closure is issued.
