Lossless compression examples. The point of this kind of compression is to preserve as much of the image quality as possible, meaning lossless images can be hard to spot! In some cases, you may see a slight difference — but the images are often close to identical.
26 Ιουλ 2018 · Kozhemiakin et al. [199] indicated that while remote sensing images are widely compressed using lossless compression to preserve the image quality, small compression ratio is achieved and suggested lossy image compression technique based on discrete cosine transform.
11 Οκτ 2019 · This paper presents a detailed analysis of run-length, entropy and dictionary based lossless image compression algorithms with a common numeric example for a clear comparison and measures the performance of the state-of-the-art techniques.
Image compression techniques are divided into lossless and lossy methods [13-14]. A lossless method perfectly reproduces the original image from the encoded form [41,46], and lossy compression allows a slight loss [4-8]. There are two types of lossless image compression methods: learning and non-learning techniques.
1 Ιαν 2022 · This article compares the most popular state-of-the-art lossless image compression techniques, and the methods are evaluated based on the bits per pixel or compression ratio.
1 Ιαν 2009 · Section 16.2 introduces basic concepts in lossless image coding. Section 16.3 reviews concepts from information theory and presents classical lossless compression schemes including Huffman, Arithmetic, Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW), Elias, and Exp-Golomb codes. Standards for lossless compression are presented in Section 16.4.
