In “The Chamber at the End of Memory,” Rogal Dorn finds the tombs of the two primarchs, and Malcador temporarily restores his memories. Dorn re-learns the need for their erasure, and says that whatever threat his two brothers posed, it would have dwarfed the entire Heresy and already seen the Imperium put to ruin. Yeah.
The lost primarchs and legions, as I understand them were GW's earlier edition way of allowing custom primarchs. In current canon, they were expunged from history, and heavily implied that Russ was tasked with executing them.
