The Lost River Reservation (also known as the Lost River Gorge & Boulder Caves) is a protected area with a series of boulder caves along a gorge in the White Mountains in Woodstock, New Hampshire, United States.
Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves was impressive! It's a moderately challenging hike, especially if you choose to enter the caves, but the views are worth it! The wooden walkways in this park are like works of art, and the rock formations and waterfalls are stunning.
When the ice melted, the water carried debris, eroding the rocks and forming Lost River Gorge. Lost River is so-named because the brook draining from the south east part of Kinsman Notch disappears below the surface in the narrow, steep-walled glacial gorge.
