[1] The historic 2,170-mile (3,490 km) [2] Oregon Trail connected various towns along the Missouri River to Oregon's Willamette Valley.
Traveling through Nebraska along the Oregon Trail pathways is an experience that echoes the footsteps of history. Spanning nearly 400 miles across the Great Plains region, this iconic route has witnessed countless migrations of pioneers, traders, and Native American tribes.
Following in the footsteps of pilgrims and pioneers, US‑20 takes in a little of everything during its two-lane trek from Oregon’s rugged coast to the glorious sea and sand of Cape Cod. In its 430-mile or so (690-km) trek across Nebraska, US-20 passes through a surprising variety of landscapes.
