Act 421 of the 2019 Regular Legislative Session authorized the Louisiana Department of Health to create a TEFRA program that allows certain children who have a disability to receive Medicaid coverage, even if their parents earn too much money to qualify for Medicaid.

This program allows certain children under 19 years of age with disabilities to receive Medicaid coverage, regardless of parental income.
Children in Texas might be able to get low-cost or free health coverage through Children's Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program. CHIP is a health care program for children without health insurance whose families earn too much to get Medicaid but cannot afford health insurance.
