Surrendering a Pet or Strays. At Houston Pets Alive! (HPA!), our mission is to save animals from imminent euthanasia at high kill shelters. To make room for those animals, we are unable to accept owner surrenders or strays. For no-kill rescue alternatives that may be able to help with owner surrenders and strays, please refer to these lists:
We aren't your average rescue. Houston Pets Alive! acts as a safety net for municipal shelters/impound facilities and serves at-risk animals by working alongside animal welfare partners to holistically reduce euthanasia, pet homelessness, and animal suffering in the Houston area.
