Here, we report the results of a double-blind, prospective trial in postmenopausal women with low bone density to address the hypothesis that bone quality measured in terms of MRI-derived strength, microstructure, and adiposity is improved by daily application of low-intensity vibration, relative to placebo.
4 Νοε 2018 · Whole-body vibration (WBV) intervention studies and reviews have been increasing lately. However, the results regarding its effects on bone tissue in different populations are still inconclusive. The goal of this overview was to summarize systematic reviews assessing the effects of WBV training on bone parameters.
8 Ιαν 2021 · This randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the effects of different whole body vibration (WBV) frequencies on concentric and eccentric leg muscle strength, bone turnover and walking...
12 Οκτ 2015 · A considerable volume of evidence has accumulated to suggest that whole-body vibration (WBV) may have a therapeutic role to play in the prevention of osteoporotic fracture, particularly for individuals who are unable to tolerate vigorous exercise interventions.
31 Ιαν 2013 · According to ISO-2631, exposure to low intensity vibration (LIV) induced at 0.3 g at 30 Hz would be considered safe for between 4 to 8 hours each day, reducing concerns for LIV in terms of its potential as a treatment for osteoporosis.
Abstract. There has been evidence that cyclical mechanical stimulation may be osteogenic, thus providing opportunities for nonpharmacological treatment of degenerative bone disease.
1 Οκτ 2021 · A systematic literature review revealed that there were statistically significant improvements reported in terms of improved BMD outcomes in the use of WBV with or without resisted exercise (RE) vs no intervention in 11 of the randomized controlled trials (n= 442).
